About Us
Queniborough Preschool operates from one large hall, which we carefully lay out into different areas, with specific learning opportunities for different age groups. It is a great space where all children can learn and develop into happy, confident and competent children together in one spacious environment.
Our sessions on Wednesday and Friday afternoons either take place at the Scout Hall, and have an emphasis on physical education (with a quiet area and activities available) or the children are taken on other trips and adventure, which benefit your child’s physical and understanding the world development.
Committee
Our Preschool is a member of the Early Years Alliance and is run by a committee, who follow a constitution which sets out their responsibilities in relation to:
- managing the setting’s finances and fundraising
- employing and managing the staff
- making sure that the setting has, and works to policies that help it to provide a high quality service
- ensuring that the setting works in partnership with the parents
The committee holds an Annual General Meeting which is open to the parents of all children who attend the setting and members of the local community. It is a shared forum that looks over the previous year’s activities and shapes the coming year’s plan.
The committee is made up of three key roles and additional committee members who support the work of the committee. New members are always welcome – please contact the chair of the committee if you are interested in joining.
Who we are:
Chairperson – Sarah Merriman
Sarah has lived in Queniborough for over 30 years and is passionate about quality Early Years Provision being provided within the village community and she aims to keep QPS a sustainable option for parents and children and future generations to come. Sarah is a company director and has overall responsibility for decision making in many areas of business, such as governance, compliance, HR, business planning, strategy, finance, health and safety, customer care, and business promotion.
Treasurer – Robert Geary
Robert has lived in Queniborough for over 5 years and has vast experience in finance and accountancy and has previous experience as the treasurer and director of British Para Table Tennis.
Secretary – Jacob Shell
